It’s a 2 days mountain at 5460 m.a.s.l. amazing!!
It’s more challenge than the others, because has an 80 meter wall of 65 degrees, that you need to climb!!! And the best of it is that you don’t need to have any previous experience!
The first day we are leaving Huaraz very early, it’s almost 4 hours driving until the Km 42 of the road to Yanama, on the way you are going to see the Llanganuco Lagoons, at 3800 m.a.s.l. and once you are going up, all the mountains of the valley start to appear, Huascaran, Huandoy, Pisco, Chacraraju… Once there you will walk around 2 hours until the Morraine Camp, at 4700 m.a.s.l. here you camp, and rest for the 2nd day.
Today is Summit Day!!
You’ll wake up at 2am, have a quick breakfast and prepare for the Glacier, from here is 20 minutes walking till there, change the boots, put the crampons and go for the summit!!
It’s 4-6 hours walking with this interesting 80 meters wall, the you need to climb!
The guide is going to go first, put a system and belay you for up.
On the way down you can rappel the wall or the guide can take you down.
It’s from 2 to 3 hours to descend from the summit to the Morraine Camp, have a good breakfast, pick everything up, and start walking to the road, where the transportation is going to bring you back to Huaraz.
